2024 SP2R Ducks Lacrosse Welcome Meeting 
Tuesday, March 19, 2024 

Two Rivers High School Room A332 
6:00 - 7:00 p.m. 

Agenda: 

1. Welcome: Meeting Overview / Where to Find Agenda 

2. Land Acknowledgment: 

I want to acknowledge and recognize Dakota communities as the traditional custodians of this land and pay my respects to their elders, past and present. Additionally, I want to acknowledge our sport as a part of Anishinaabe and Dakota cultures past, present, and future and to offer my gratitude for our inclusion in this game. I share this land acknowledgment with you as a step towards recognizing the privileges and responsibilities of being a guest on this land and in this game.

3. Quality Conversation Excercise 

- Partner up with someone you don’t know.  

- One person will be the listener One will be the talker. The listener's job is to be curious about the other person and ask questions to get to know them. The talker's job is to answer. We will switch roles after 4 minutes. 

4. Coach Introductions 

- Role, Background, Core Values You Like to Teach, Skills You Like to Teach. 
 
5. Player Introductions  

- Each player says their name. The rest of the group will say, “Hi ____”. 

- Each player then says their - school, grade, position, a skill they are excited to work on this year and then introduces anyone who is attending the meeting with them.
- When they are done, the group claps once together. 

6. Season Overview & Highlights 

- Estimating 40 players. Would like to get to 50. Please help recruit

- We will run three teams again this year to ensure each players get plenty of game experience. JV players will likely swing between varsity and prep.

- Overnight trip to Duluth. 

7. Registration, Team Fees & Fundraisers 

Be sure to complete the booster registration form that has been emailed out and connect with your athletic office to ensure you have all of your paperwork and fees submitted there. 

- Booster Fee: $225. Checks payable to the St. Paul Central High School Sports Booster Club. We are also Working on getting a Venmo option set-up. Need-based fee waivers are available. Email Coach Lipkin for more information.

- Vertical Raise Fundraiser. We broke the record for boys lacrosse in MN last year. Need to raise at least $8k this year. Easy to do with everyone's involvement.
